8th-CDX, $59,796, Alw, NW1X, 3yo/up, 6 1/2f, 1:16 2/5, ft. WINE POLICE (c, 3, Speightstown--Deputy Cures Blues {MSW, $405,893}, by War Deputy) garnered the “TDN Rising Star” tag with a smashing 7 3/4-length debut success at Saratoga July 24 over a field that included subsequent MGSW Soldat (War Front), GSW and GISP Santiva (Giant=s Causeway) and GSW Joe Vann (Silver Deputy). The $190,000 KEESEP yearling followed up that performance with a third in the four-horse GI Three Chimneys Hopeful S. Sept. 6 behind Boys At Tosconova (Officer) and Stay Thirsty (Bernardini), but had been on the sidelines ever since. The 9-10 choice saved ground in fourth behind splits of :23.03 and :45.86 set by loose-on-the-lead Indian Council (Indian Charlie), came to challenge the pacesetter in upper stretch and handed that rival a 2 1/4-length beat under only mild urging. Lifetime Record: GISP, 3-2-0-1, $92,260. Click for the chart or Video, sponsored by Taylor Made. O-J Kirk & Judy Robison. B-John & Martha Jane Mulholland (KY). T-Steven M Asmussen.
